Desktop Support Analyst

Job description

The key responsibility of the Desktop Support Analyst is to provide technical support for all global Managedfuture clients including, troubleshooting of Macs, PCs, printers, and software applications. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Provides technical support, responds and completes help desk tickets as submitted by end-users
  • Setup and onboarding of new clients including accounts, hardware, and software
  • Test and install computer software applications
  • Interface with third party vendors to resolve certain hardware or software issues
  • Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources for clients
  • Develop and maintain required end user documentation
  • Provides emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

 

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO APPLY?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or an associate degree and 1-2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A+, Network+, and current Windows certifications preferred
  • Excellent fluency in English
  • Customer-oriented mindset with exceptional customer service skills required

On-site Technician

Job description

Managedfuture is looking for a qualified On-site Technician to install, maintain, and repair computers and networks. As the On-site Technician, you must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently and accurately, as well as possess a great problem-solving skill set to fix issues and ensure functionality. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Maintaining and repairing technological equipment
  • Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks, as well as manage their components
  • Setup and onboarding of new clients including accounts, hardware, and software
  • Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of user PC's on-site
  • Test and install computer hardware applications
  • Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources for clients

  • Support printers, audiovisual and peripherals

Digital Communications Intern

Job description
A 4-month internship opportunity starting September 2020 for a current post-secondary student. The Digital Communications Intern will be responsible for creating compelling communications materials to share with internal and external stakeholders. You will help teach, inspire, and create the content for our website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).


Responsibilities
  • LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram: Create posts and stories, comment, and share articles on the company social media channels to attract engagement
  • Graphic design: work will include, but will not be limited to: digital advertising, banners, posters, web and digital assets, branded templates, infographics and other communications materials.
  • Maintain and ensure brand consistency across all communication materials.
  • Maintain digital assets files.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Currently studying Communications, Graphic Design, Digital Design, Digital Communications or other relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated creativity in a fast-paced environment (portfolio examples required).
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills – if currently blogging or writing for other online and social mediums, please show portfolio examples.
  • Experience working with design software: Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Spark)
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, although training will be provided.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with quick turnaround times.

Network Support Intern

Job Description

A 4-month internship opportunity starting September 2020 for a current post-secondary student. The Network Support Intern will be required to assist with the maintenance and development of networks that are both functional and secure. This role requires a positive attitude toward learning and taking on new challenges as they arise. Additional duties may be assigned by the Senior Network Engineer as needed.

 


Responsibilities

  • Resolve Level 1 & 2 support issues including workstations, network issues, and cloud services
  • Provide assistance with server migrations and infrastructure changes as needed
  • Support and troubleshoot functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
  • Assist with Active Directory and Domain controller maintenance
  • Assist with email and phone (VoIP) communication systems configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Configure, install, and update software per company guidelines
  • Assist with configuration and installation of servers, routers, firewalls, and other network devices
  • Assist with network integrity and performance monitoring
  • Provide timely and professional communication to end users and leadership as needed
  • Assist with generating and maintaining technical documentation
  • Setting up and configuring new desktops and users (Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and to assist with desktop moves and re-cabling)
  • Learn to troubleshoot network issues, desktop application issues, security issues (Anti-virus, malware, etc)
  • Learning remote support to global users

 


Requirements

  • Cross-platform knowledge (Windows and Linux OS’s) is needed
  • Networking: LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory
  • Security: Data & Network security
  • Messaging: POP3/IMAP/SMTP; Exchange; MS Exchange
  • Hardware: Desktops, Laptops, Printers/Copiers/Fax;
  • Virtualization: Server and Desktop virtualization technology
  • Applications: Basic Desktop applications (Data Recovery tools, Microsoft Office, etc)
  • Telecommunication: Data and voice circuits; Phones; Mobile devices
  • Basic understanding of network design/architecture is essential
  • Ability to follow troubleshooting best practices when faced with new software/environments.

 


Preferred Skills

  • Ability to work and complete tasks with limited on-site supervision. 
  • Strong communication skills with remote leadership concerning status of assigned tasks. CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+ are preferred. 
  • Experience maintaining or managing phone/VoIP systems is a plus.
  • Additional language is a bonus.
